Animal Farm
Dust Jacket

Fall 2022
Created with Adobe InDesign
Dust jacket reimagined for George Orwell's Animal Farm.
Concept
The central concept I chose to focus on for my cover was the consumption of whiskey by the pigs. It symbolizes their desire to be more like humans and their selfish and self-indulgent behavior. My concept here was to showcase the whiskey glasses, but even further to use the glasses to symbolize the pigs. The first glass is spilled, representing the bloodshed of Snowball’s attack. On the back cover, one glass remains unharmed and the third is on its side but there is no spillage. Respectively, those represent Napoleon, the leader, and Squealer, the propagandist.

Cover Iterations
The iterative process for the central image was one of trial and error. In using letters made of ice for the title, it took several trials to produce the final image.
